It's on Sunday night on the History channel. I've read the book, and it's AMAZING. Scary, DETAILED stuff. I highly recommend it.

I just caught a commercial of the up & coming show, i'm defintly checkin that out- Who was the author of the book? i might go up to the horizon bookstore and snag a copy.

I've heard rumors that the world is going to end in December 2012? How accurate are these predictions? Anyone familiar with any other Nostradamus predictions?

There was a thing on the history channel talking about a "lost book" with an illustration of a scorpio, our galaxy, and the year 2012. They said that it was weird that in the 14th century our galaxy had a spiral shaped core because there had been no telescopes existing at that time….Also something about other "Doomsday Prophecies" being in 2012…

Both memes have been disseminated in numerous books and TV documentaries, and have spread around the world through websites and discussion groups. Can you give me evidence specifically supporting the existence of the Christian god?

That is to say–can you give me evidence that supports the existence of the Christian god that is not also simply evidence of generic theism?

For example, I hear quite often people saying, "How can you look at the world around you, at all the wonders of nature, etc. etc., and not believe in God?"

Well, this could be considered an argument for theism in general, but not for Christianity specifically–after all, Odin or Zeus or Osiris could have created all the wonders of nature just as easily, could they not?

Bible-quoting is not necessary, nor is it effective–I can quote verses about the creation of the universe by Odin, Lodur and Hoenir from a different mythology book just as easily.

"Biblical prophecies" have been mentioned to me on occasion, but when I actually look them up I find that they're no more impressive than Nostradamus or Edgar Casey.

So…anything else?
dbu: I do not doubt the existence of Jesus of Nazareth, because I have researched it. However, evidence of Jesus the man does not constitute evidence of Jesus the Son of God.
patrone: Thanks for the links, and I admire your efforts. Although I have to contend that a scientific study that proves that the material is human flesh and blood does not prove that it miraculously changed into that from something else. (To me, it implies the machinations of a rather sick mind…)
Cuchlain: I'm not an expert on Zeus, but I can say with some measure of authority that Odin did, in fact, claim to have created the universe. I'll find a nice passage from the Poetic Edda and send it to you, or post it here.
Cuchlain (again): By the way, how does the Golden Ratio support the existence of the Christian god?
the chosen one: Could you give me a few examples? Also, did he also use His expert knowledge of insects to arrive at the conclusion that they only have four legs?
