I need some intelligent minds to help me figure this out.
I seriously,dont know what will happen.
The facts – Mayan's Calendar ends in December 21st, 2012.
It has to end once. They are an extinct civilization. It wont last till 1050205 year.
Nostradamus, he was a fake. He took quotes,from dozens of other cultist books,and copied them into his,making a "Prophecies" book. Mostly,there are 2 ways you can look at this.
Scientific look: Pole Shifting, Supernovas, "The Planet Alignment",etc.
Religious look: God created us all,and only he knows the end of the world.
This is a quote from the bible,which i believe we should all know,by observing the 2012.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid…for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” And , "Yea though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me."

Nothing, the calender is offset by about 50 years.

I just posted this answer and it got no thumbs up, and two thumbs down, so I figured I'd post it again in the form of a question and provide a little educational background to 2012 junkies.

OK, look. Since I have nothing better to do, I'll tell you a little story. Once upon a time, the Mayans created a calendar that is similar to ours in many ways, and predicted the time pretty accurately.

They believed that by December 21, 2012 (by the Gregorian calendar), that their calendar will have become useless and we'd revert back to "natural time," which is indeed a much better calendar than what we use now.

They never said, or thought, that the world would end. This was merely a date they set for people to start using a more functional time system.

Other people have said that Nostradamus had predicted the same date, but we all know how incredibly vague and unreliable his "prophecies" are. The quotes in question make no mention about the date.

I will stop posting to US yahoo answer when this US yahoo account was banned. When you are traving to Israel, please tell the Jews that their Messiah is in Jerusalem now, he will choose the suitable time when he wants to appear.

For the sake of argument, lets say that that you theists are right, and that the world really does require a creator. Now, how do you know that creator is the god that you pray to? Why are you, say, a Christian rather than a Muslim or a Hindu or a Zeus-follower? List the evidence you base your belief on.

Things I will NOT accept as evidence:

Verses from the bible, the Koran, etc.. Most religions have holy books. This means nothing.

"Biblical prophecies", or anything of the sort, being fulfilled. Nostradamus's prophecies came true. Any prophecy can come true if it's written vaguely enough.

An anecdote about how God spoke to you or healed your dying grandmother or something. People of all religions have such experiences with their gods, and there is no reason to think your one-on-one with your deity is more valid than than anyone else's one-on-one with their deity. The mind is plays tricks on us all.

Faith. Faith can be the reason you believe in a god, but it is not evidence. Faith is, by it's nature, arbitrary. What would the world be like if mathematicians worked by expressing their "faith" that 1+1=3? Faith is not proof of anything.
I don't know why "I look forward to your answers" is double up there…

The rules that govern logic are as inherent as the laws of physics.

Ok so to make a long story short I am a titanic fanatic. I love doing research on it and finding out new things about it. I was recently on youtube and guess what pops up in the featured videos column? That's right a good ol' conspiracy theory. Out of curiosity I decided to watch it and it was quite disturbing. Basically the 7 part youtube video talked about an old cult that has been around for centuries lurking in the dark and remaining unaware to the general public since medieval times. This cult is called the Illuminati and literally make "prophecies" come true. They claim that Nostradamus, prophesiers from the bible, ect were actually Illuminati members and intentionally caused their "prophecies" to happen so they can form and create the word as they see fit. The maker of the video claims that they were behind some of the world's greatest moments and disasters such as America being found by British settlers, all of the american wars (both pre and post 1776), 9/11, and a lot of previous history. The maker of the video went on to say that the current generation of Illuminati are putting into effect what "is to become" World War 3 and the end of the world. He said that the war will be between Russia, America, North and South Korea, China, Pakistan, Iran, Mexico, and many others. He also mentioned that the Illuminati were behind the sinking of the Titanic (which is why the video was in the featured list.) What do you guys think? Do you guys believe that this "secret organization" is the reason for the world's accomplishments and catastrophes and are using those things to set in motion World War 3?

Question by Just a guy: writings of nostradamus vs. the holy bible what contains more verifiable prophecy?
and why is it that people still think it is funny to site actual verifiable prophecy in the bible? Has the word "prophecy" been used so much that people's eyes just glaze over?

60 minutes and 20/20 can do a special on Nostradamus, but the bible is hands off? Doesn't anyone think that is strange?
the people that point to bias are the same that laugh at the idea of opening a bible.

I have read both writings. Nostradamus wins the contest for being criptic. Oh well. People will always reject things without looking into it I guess.
