  I know the mayan calendar ends but than nasa says it doesn't actually that there is another period and there is no planet X that will crash and destroy the world…. HOPEFULLY IT ISN'T the end of the world….

   The Mayan calendar is broken up into intervals, each lasting a different amount of time. The current and longest interval is the one we're currently in and yes, it's set to end at 2012. However, this doesn't mean that the world is ending. From what I've heard, it just means one era of the kind of people who exist on the earth will end and another will begin. So to be succinct, NO, THE WORLD IS NOT ENDING IN 2012.

   the whole theory is that the mayan calendar is going to end in 2012. let me ask you this: what happens on december 31st every year? the calendar ends, but a new year begins. this doesn't mean that every year on december 31st the world ends does it? another thing to keep in mind… the mayans might have ran out of room for their calendar. they didn't have paper & pens, they had rocks. i don't know how many days a mayan calendar was, but i know it's around 7,000 days. think about this for a second……. if you were to examine the sky & make conclusions about sapce & what's going to happen in space, wouldn't you get tired (or run out of room) for 7,000 something days?

   it's not going to happen. i thought it was at a first because everyone was making a big deal about it. now that i think about it, why weren't people freaking out about this 5 years ago? what about in 1999? if the world was going to end in 1999, what makes you think it's going to happen in 2012? it's just a big conspiracy to make people feel scared. if the world was going to come to an end by a meteor, don't you think scientists would have evidence about it?

   if the world was going to end, wouldn't everyone be preparing for it NOW? you'd think something would be on the news, right? there is absolutely no evidence that the world is going to end… look it up. there's theory's, but no solid evidence by a scientist.

   that's just my opinion though. you can think whatever you want to… i don't have any proof to make up my thoughts other than the fact that there isn't any evidence. i have no evidence proving there's no evidence. don't feed into what the TV says or the new 2012 movie coming out. if you haven't noticed, media tends to lie a bit.
