Michel de Nostredame (14 December or 21 December 1503 2 July 1566), usually Latinised to Nostradamus, was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide. He is best known for his book Les Propheties ("The Prophecies"), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted a following that, along with the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events.Popularity: 2% [?]

@fourmod001 – Glad you enjoyed the video. Al Stewart is a great musician and I don't think anyone could have picked a harder subject to sing about. He is a true minstrel and of course, Nostradamus was a great light for the ages.

A masterpiece, and may I say fantastic visual feast
made my day.
Believe me, one day we will all see the big picture but not in life as Nostradamus did.

This received quite a bit of airplay during 1974…freeform radio still existed then, which is what allowed it to get that radip play. Now it would most likely be overlooked or relegated to college or listener-sponsored stations.Totally unique for its time (and as far as I know, noone else has written an extensive tune about Nostradamus. Who could possibly follow this up?). Past, Present and Future was Al Stewart's finest moment, and not just the music, but the album cover depicting Dr. Strange!
