The Number of Jesus' Name, 888

   There is historical evidence that Jesus of the Bible existed; but was he simply a man, or was he truly the Son of God, God in the flesh?  There is a way to show that what is written in Scripture concerning Jesus is true; a "Bible code."  The existence of a code by which the Bible reveals hidden secrets has been sought by many people, using different methods.  Gematria, which is the use of the numerical value of words from Scripture to find hidden truth has been attempted in a variety of ways.  This is possible because the languages of the Bible, Hebrew of the OT, and Greek of the NT, both use characters of the alphabet as numbers.  As a result, each word of these languages has a specific meaning, and also a numerical value.  It has been postulated that words and phrases of equal numerical values are associated.

    Being illiterate in the languages of the Bible, I began to use the root word spelling for each word in a sentence, without changing the spelling of the words according to rules of grammar.  This "short hand translation" was found to reveal hidden truth of what is written in Scripture through the numerical value of sentences which restate what the Bible says.  In this article I will show the remarkable gematria associations of sentences written with root words regarding what is proclaimed concerning Jesus Christ.  (For those interested, the numerical values for each letter of the Hebrew and Greek alphabets are available from many sources.)

   Each word in both Hebrew and Greek has a numerical value determined by the value of each letter in the word. This is demonstrated below for the name of Jesus in Greek.

The number 888 is the number of Jesus' name, and this number will confirm that what is written in Scripture regarding Jesus is true.

    Ezekiel prophesied that God would send a shepherd to feed his people: And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. Ezekiel 34: 23. Jesus said that he is the good shepherd: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10: 11. Using the method which I have described, computing the numerical value of only the root word spelling of each word without consideration for how the word should be spelled according to proper grammar, the truth of the Bible in relation to the good shepherd is confirmed.  This is first accomplished by adding the gematria values for "one shepherd" in Hebrew, and "David, the good shepherd" in Greek.  (In the examples shown, the Strong's number of each word is indicated, and all numerical values shown are the total for each word. Take note that Hebrew is written from right to left.)

   Isaiah also prophesied that the Messiah which God would send would be a savior, and he would deliver the people: And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.  Isaiah 19: 20.  Jesus is confirmed as that Savior which God promised to send, and it is also confirmed that the Savior is God's only Son.

    Later in Isaiah it is written: Verily thou art God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.  Isaiah 45: 15.  When the same root words used by Isaiah are used in a sentence, Jesus is revealed as the one of whom Isaiah has written.

   This verse in Isaiah says that the Lord is the first and the last.  A similar claim is made by Jesus in Revelation: I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last…  Revelation 1: 11.  This truth regarding Jesus is proven by the numerical value of a combination of Hebrew and Greek words.

  In the Gospel of Luke, regarding the story of Jesus' birth, it is written: And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not:for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you this day is born in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  Luke 2: 11.  When the truth that Jesus, the Son of God and Savior, was born in the city of David is proclaimed using Hebrew root words, confirmation comes from the gematria value of the sentence.

   In the Gospel of John, it is written that Jesus is the Word of God who was with God in the beginning, and was God, and came to dwell among men in the flesh: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  John 1: 1.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…  John 1: 14.  Jesus is the Word of God, and two simple words in Greek confirm this to be true.

    Jesus is not just the image of God, He is God in the flesh. Jesus is the Spirit of God incarnate; He is one with the Father, Jehovah, the God of the Hebrew people. Throughout the Old Testament, the one God is referred to as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: …I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob… Exodus 3: 6. Using only the primary spelling of each word, it is proven by the numerical value that Jesus is the one God.

   In the Book of Revelation Jesus is called the King of kings and Lord of lords: …until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords.  1Timothy 6: 15.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.  And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.  Revelation 19: 13, 16.  In Hebrew the word most commonly used for Lord is the one from which the name "Jehovah" arises and is translated either "Lord" or "God."  This is the proper name for the one God.  Another Hebrew word "Adonay" also means lord and can refer either to God or a lord of men.    It is Christian doctrine that salvation is possible only through the blood of the Lamb, the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins.  Gematria proves that salvation comes only through the blood of Jesus.

   Everything that is proclaimed in Scripture concerning Jesus is confirmed by the number of his name, 888.  Many will view what I have written with skepticism as to the validity of the claim that truth is hidden in the numerical value of words.  I believe that what has come to me in this regard is a revelation of truth so that all will know that Jesus is the only way of salvation.

The meaning of a name was considered very important in bible days. Sometimes the bible itself informs the reader what a name means. Such renowned persons as Adam, Cain, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and his 12 sons, along with Jesus, all have the meaning of their name explicitly given in the bible. Their names tell the story of why or how they were born.

Some students of the bible have wondered whether these names (with their meanings) might not be strung together in succession to tell some larger story. For if the meaning of these names do indeed tell a story then this would imply that God Himself arranged these names providentially throughout the ages.

Already there have been attempts to string together the first 10 names in the bible from Adam to Noah. This is what the first 10 names of the bible read when the meaning of each name is rendered one after the other in succession in the same order that the bible gives them:

"A man is appointed, a man of sorrow. The Glory of God shall come down teaching that His death shall bring the grieving rest."

However, the prophecy completely emerges once all 60 names from Adam to Jesus are included and sequentially read. Not only is the complete prophecy a remarkable cursory history of man from the perspective of the bible, but it is also a revelation about Jesus Christ as One revealed in the lives of His ancestors.

In the following reading, several of the names that are omitted in Matthew's genealogy are here included. And if an individual had more than one name then their alternative names were also included. In addition, the genealogy of Cain's line (who eventually perished in the flood of Noah) is included.

—An Acrostic in the Same Genealogy—

Moreover, recently another type of bible code was discovered within the first 20 names of this same genealogy of Christ. The first letter of each consecutive name from Adam to Abraham in the original Hebrew forms an acrostic prophecy.

It is apparent that this Acrostic Bible Code is meant to be affixed to the Meaning-of-Names Code because both codes come from the same source, contain similar prophecies, with both written in the first person as from God.

It is beyond the scope of this article to interpret the Names-Code here. However, words in brackets have been added as an aid to help identify the historic time period in which a particular name (with its meaning) refers to as the genealogical code scrolls down from Adam to Christ.

(The first two sentences are the acrostic.)

"I will forgive my enemies, having compassion, forgiving those who are but stubble and dust a second time.

I will choose a circumcised people (i.e., Jews), even many peoples for myself (i.e., Gentiles)."

But, the God-Man is appointed to save, this man of sorrow. The Glory of God shall come down from heaven teaching men that by means of His death He shall comfort those who mourn.

(After the flood…) The fame of the stronghold of Babylon, and sorrow, extend their borders like a plant beyond the place of division (at the Tower of Babel). — But I will make Babylon fade away!

A friend also branches out (like Abraham), snorting with fury! The Glorious Father, the Father of many people, laughs as He outwits (his enemy).

A mighty One (like Moses) struggles in prayer. A righteous Prince sees God. Praise bursts forth and makes an opening into a place surrounded by a high wall, there the people of the Prince (are safe) from (Balaam) the false prophet. They are clothed with strength.

For there exists a Servant, one beloved and peaceable. He will extend the territory of the people (like King David and Solomon).

My Father is the Lord, the healer of him whom the Lord judged and then raised up. The Lord has taken hold of me and the Lord is strong. Mighty is the Lord! My strength and help are in the Lord. The Lord is perfect. I took hold of the strength of the Lord and it made me forget my misery. (I am) the Master Builder whom the Lord God healed, whom the Lord raised up, whom the Lord appointed, and whom the Lord did uphold and will uphold.

I have asked God about the ransomed of the Lord — those exiled in Babylon. My Father is awesome! God will raise up a helper, the Just One will the Lord raise up. God is my praise! God is the One who helps. May the Gift of Jacob increase in greatness, for God is with us! — The Messiah and Savior of those called out (of Babylon)."
