I just posted this answer and it got no thumbs up, and two thumbs down, so I figured I'd post it again in the form of a question and provide a little educational background to 2012 junkies.

OK, look. Since I have nothing better to do, I'll tell you a little story. Once upon a time, the Mayans created a calendar that is similar to ours in many ways, and predicted the time pretty accurately.

They believed that by December 21, 2012 (by the Gregorian calendar), that their calendar will have become useless and we'd revert back to "natural time," which is indeed a much better calendar than what we use now.

They never said, or thought, that the world would end. This was merely a date they set for people to start using a more functional time system.

Other people have said that Nostradamus had predicted the same date, but we all know how incredibly vague and unreliable his "prophecies" are. The quotes in question make no mention about the date.

Therefore, no matter which category you fall into, you owe it to yourself to conduct a thorough research and find out the real facts and explanations behind all the sensationalism. Many people have started preparing for the soon-to come apocalypse by accessing the "survive 2012" guides, resources and books available on the Internet.

The main theory of the 2012 doomsday has to do with the passing of planet Nibiru, named the Planet X by the NASA discoverers, between the Earth and the Sun, causing the poles to shift and the Earth's rotation to stop. Moreover, a huge wave of radiation is going to traverse Earth and cause electromagnetic and natural catastrophes.

Scientists have established that big tsunamis, world-shattering earthquakes and nuclear explosions are going to occur in 2012, events predicted by the Mayans long time before we found out about them. There is no telling really of what is going to occur, so what are you going to do? Just comfortably sit in your chair and wait for the evening news or make preparations and hope you'll make it?

Guides and 2012 survival resources advise people to prepare their own survival kits, to move to less risky places like Africa, where there are no nuclear reactors, or to high altitude places where tsunamis and earthquakes cannot affect you. Also, you can learn tips and methods of surviving in the wilderness and take into consideration specialists and scientists' advices.

However, it is very important to stay calm and be relaxed about it, trying not to freak out and do crazy things. You have all the chances to survive if you maintain your peace of mind, make the necessary preparations and focus on staying alive.

The Mayan Calendar, Nostradamus, The Sacred book of I-Ching, Web Bot project and many more imply that the World will come to an end on December 21st, 2012. Is there any logical way to disprove/prove that theory?

Please do not call it a theory. A theory requires scientific backing and MUST be able to successfully predict related events. The "2012" nonsense is very broad, as it pretty much is a crap-load of every type of physical phenomenon that could go wrong ever, all happening in 1 year, all of which has not been proven.

No credible scientist will agree with the "theory", it's just not scientific. It's science-fiction entertainment.

I haven't read the book, but I was wondering if anyone here has read the book.

I've heard the book says that there are secret messages in the Hebrew Bible, and can be found through the Torah. How true are these Bible codes?

85% of all of Nostradamous's prophecies failed to come to pass …NOt a very good record….

However, 100% of all the Bible prophecies have come to pass in perfect detail.

Opinions of 2012 also Mayan Theory supported bs NASA?
It is the end of the end of the Mayan calendar December 21, 2012 they believe the world will line up with milky way and in this happening cause the earths polar fields to reverse cause intensified global storms there will be an earthquake in every location, NASA is backing the Mayans up by this.

BTW – I don't think the world will end because of this, this type of thing happens every 26,000 years

The contemporary scientific community and even Einstein has predicted that on Dec 24 2012 there will be a polar shift here on earth because of Planet X or Nibiru disrupting our solar system. Basically they are saying that the north pole and south pole will switch in a matter of seconds , causing Earth to spin the other way around and therefore cause chaos here on Earth , they estimate that every calamity from A-Z will happen , and that a 3rd of the world will be wiped out. Is this myth ? Or is this really real ? How come NASA or any other space agency isn't alerting us about this , shouldnt we start preparing for this ?
